The secret every boxer and coach has always known has been confirmed. Boxers truly are America's Best Athletes. ESPN.com (2007) compiled a panel of experts to rank 60 sports in several skills to test the difficulty of each of the sports. At the end of all of the calculations, and tests, boxing was named the most athletically challenging sport to compete in.
The poll based on the following skills: Endurance, Strength, Power, Speed, Agility, Flexibility, Nerve, Durability, Hand-Eye Coordination, Analytic Aptitude.
So if you are tired of the same old routine and want to learn proper boxing technique (without having to fight), and get in the best mental and physical shape of your life, start now-read on.
Start Training
If you have never trained in boxing before, then you are required to take an Intro Class. This class will show you the basics of amateur boxing beginning with your fighting stance, jab, cross, hook as well as some basic defense. The intro classes are FREE and run every Wednesday at 6:30pm and selected Saturdays during the month at 10:30am. Please call the gym at 612-822-1964 or email us at info@uppercutgym.com to pre register for this class and to confirm class time. Remember-there is no charge for this class.
Types Of Training
Uppercut Gym provides boxing training for all fitness levels, including amateur and professional boxing. One-on-one training is available in boxing, kickboxing and general fitness. Uppercut trainers are USA Boxing certified coaches and officials as well as certified amateur boxers.
